Nothing Between a Rock/Pop/Country band whose repertoire included bands like the Moody Blues, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Santana, Uriah Heep in those days, plus cover versions of latest Top 40 pop and country tunes of the day. The Band was very popular in the 60’s and 70’s and won national acclaim by coming second in a National Battle of the Bands competition. The lack of a good manager was the only reason they never took advantage of their popularity at the time. The band changed members often during that period but the backbone of the group singer Johnny Holtzhausen on vocals and his brother Herman on lead guitar, were there from the start to the finish. Nothing Between finally ended up with Johnny, Herman, Stephen, Barker and Frans. At that time Nothing Between as they were known to thousand were forced to change their name on signing with EMI. Under the new name Nothing Between went on to record only two songs with EMI one made it to the official South African Top 30.
